OUR STORY
Ocho Rios was founded by Thomas Ritchie and his lifelong love for the ocean and nature. Having lived without a smartphone his whole life, he always dreamed of creating a space where people could disconnect and recharge. That dream became reality in 2021, when he found the perfect spot in the forest of Costa Rica surrounded by clouds. Since then, he and his passionate team have been creating a place for people whose lives feel too noisy, whose screen time takes over their days, and who need a quiet place to step away from the digital rush — a gentle, eco-friendly glamping space with non-permanent, nature-based structures that leave no trace.
ABOUT US
In today’s world, we’re constantly connected—our phones and social media often take over our lives. At Ocho Rios, we envision a place where you can step away from screens, slow down, and reconnect with yourself. Hidden in the jungle, surrounded by endless trails and massive waterfalls, this place sits on open pasture land from a retired 60-year-old cow farm, so no trees were cut and everything grows naturally. It offers a gentle journey back to presence, helping you find balance, clarity, and a true sense of calm—far from the digital noise of everyday life.
